Mango is Developed based on an Ericsson
international data communication standard
- Mobitex. Mobitex Mobitex is in some respects
similar to the digital cellular technology
used for today's mobile telephone systems.
The network consists of interconnected cells,
each of which is served by a radio base station
that provides wireless access to the network
for mobile users. The base stations and other
network nodes are connected together by fixed
links. Despite these basic similarities, Mobitex
is unique in several key respects. The characteristics
that define the technology and make Mobitex
unique in today's market are that it is a
narrowband data-only network, that it uses
packet switching and that it is based on an
open international standard. These key characteristics
are described in greater detail below. |
